IS 349 Recovery Services Afterschool Program

Every DOE school will offer an afterschool or Saturday program to deliver Special Education Recovery Services. Special Education Recovery Services are specialized instruction and related services, targeted to each student’s individual needs. These services will be provided to students with IEPs in addition to their regular school day. They offer the opportunity for your child to receive additional services as soon as possible, without any need for you to make a request or wait through an administrative process.

We are excited to announce that I.S. 349 will begin the IEP/Sp.Ed. Recovery Services Afterschool Program on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. The in person program is available to all IEP students on Tuesday and Wednesday from 3 PM to 4 PM.

We urge you to review the Special Education Recovery Services letter you received via backpack from your child. This letter outlines the individual recovery services that will be provided for your child during the afterschool program. Your child will also receive an afterschool consent form. If you would like your child to receive the recovery services and additional academic support, please sign the service letter and consent form and return them to the school with your child as soon as possible.
