Community School & CSS

A Community School is a partnership between school staff, families, youth, and the community to raise student achievement by ensuring that children are physically, emotionally, and socially prepared to learn. I.S. 349 has teamed up with the Center for Supportive Schools to bring our students and families the services they need, on site, to ensure our students have everything they need to succeed.  

For over 40 years, the Center for Supportive Schools has provided schools with solutions that enable and inspire students to become more engaged learners; develop positive social-emotional and healthy behaviors; and navigate pivotal transitions. Schools that partner with CSS become environments that nourish meaningful connections and open student-focused dialogue among all members of the school community.
